Rakhi is a thread that binds two souls in a bond of joy forever, so ‘Rakshabandhan’ is celebrated at every household. We sell beautifully articulated & handcrafted Rakhis prepared by women in tribal area. At tribal area in Dahanu, students and women are trained to make Rakhis. Volunteers of the organization sell rakhi by setting up stalls in various corporate offices and sharing message on social media. This initiative offers two benefits One is employment opportunities for women and children, and another is utilizing profit from sell of rakhi’s is used for education of the children in the pada.
In 2020, whole world was paralyzed by the Corona pandemic. Means of transportation like buses, trains were halted. Still, our volunteers put efforts and managed to deliver Rakhis in Mumbai and anywhere outside Mumbai, from Churchgate to Virar, Thane and Vashi etc by all possible means of transportation. For some places, Rakhi’s were sent by post. Where the sisters could not visit their brothers, their love/affections reach to their brothers. We helped to make the bond stronger and happier even during such challenging times of COVID 19 pandemic.
