While working in the tribal padas, it was observed that the parents were eager to send their children to schools in the hope that education would liberate them from poverty and deprivation. But when the children came to school, what they faced was lack of basic facilities — drinking water, sanitation, healthcare etc… but mainly gloomy classrooms due to lack for proper power supply. Sometimes total darkness.
In a bid to improve the situation and to provide clean lighting solutions ‘Alert Citizen Forum’ installed ‘solar panels’ in these schools. Resulted in better environment for education.
The organisation also set up computer lab and introduced e-learning system in these schools.
Result – Gift of Smile… Now children love to come to school and learn in new digital way.
It also brought modern and holistic education to them.
